About Null Object

Null Object is a hybrid gallery and boutique where artists and designers periodically take over the storefront with immersive installations, each accompanied by an exclusive edition of wearables, homeware, or objects.

Over time, these pieces accumulate into a small, niche museum gift shop.

The artists and designers we collaborate with often create work that exists at a higher price point, so we commission more accessible pieces that offer a different entry point into their practice.

With most our objects priced under $500, the idea is to make collecting their work more approachable to a wider audience.

Origin Story

Null Object began almost by accident when Nikki was late-night scrolling Craigslist commercial rental listings and found an improbably affordable storefront in Dimes Square.

She emailed the landlord overnight, viewed the space with Alex the next day, and together they conceived the idea on the spot: a hybrid gallery-store, some might say concept space, that could gather their community of creatives.

The Name, Tho?

The name refers to a “null object”—a non-rendered form that holds space and acts as an anchor without fixed value—mirroring their desire for a flexible platform that doesn’t impose a single vibe, but instead functions as an open container for experimentation.

Spactial Design

The physical space of Null Object is defined by fully magnetic, steel-clad walls, a gridded ceiling, and concrete floors, creating an environment designed to be radically adaptable. The founders envisioned a middle ground between a modular space and a boutique, establishing a distinct aesthetic that could be easily reconfigured.

The result is an industrial environment where each exhibition can dramatically transform the energy of the room while retaining the founders’ distinct design sensibility.
