Null Object is a hybrid boutique-gallery where artists and designers periodically “take over” the space with immersive installations. Each show leaves behind a limited-edition artifact, whether wearables or homeware, gradually accumulating into a sort of tiny, niche museum gift shop.

I'M YOUR
HUCKLBERRY

On January 9th, Bobbi Salvör Menuez and quori theodor will inhabit the steel-walled Null Object, seen through the storefront window, living out their domestic life in full public view. Each routine meal of the day will be expressed in an edible sculpture, a portrait of one partner made by the other.

‍

Riffing on the couple’s time in residence with freestyle ikebana master Christian Kōun Alborz Oldham, these works are time-based, ephemeral portraits of how the couple perceives each other—and how that perception shifts across a day.

Only photographs from the day remain—after the couple leaves, the installation consists of their personal refrigerator holding magnetized prints: a portrait of each artist and a photograph of each corresponding edible sculpture: breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

The fridge remains active throughout the show: as a community fridge, as the backdrop for video footage from the performance, and as a site for new edible and social possibilities at the closing event.
